Gilbert Stuart the creater of the lansdowne portrait of George Washington was born on December 3, 1755 in Rhode island  and died on July 9, 1828. Although Gilberts Painting of George washington was an amazing portrait he had made 130 copies and sold each for only 100$. Not like today this Portrait cost over 30,000,000.
